Craig who had placed in the top 2 in nearly every event this year again showed why he is regarded as one of Australias elite Long Drivers.

In the final playoff under difficult conditions Craigs drive finished just over 6 metres short of being the winning drive. In earlier rounds Craig hit 315m, then was the longest hitter in the quarter finals with 310m. In the Semi final he again hit well with 298.7m to cruise through to the finals.

This is Craigs best result to date. He is determined to go one better and has his sights set on next years Australian Championships. With his ability and focus he is sure to again be a real force in long drive in 2009.

Brian Reichel also using SMT and competing in the Seniors division hit the longest ball in the semi finals, then unfortunately hit all 6 balls out in the final. He therefore finished in the runners up 2nd place position.  Disappointing but still a great effort.
